Why is it Important?

The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary’s and the Church’s work. It is through the intercession of the Blessed Mother that one comes to know the Holy Spirit and Jesus Better. Saints such as, Saint Louis de Montefort, St. John Paul the Second, St. Mother Theresa, St. Dominic, and many others had devotions to the Blessed Mother in order to better pursue a relationship with the Lord. All That Mary wants is to bring us closer to her son, it is her goal and purpose to bring the whole World to Christ. It is through the Legion of Mary that we can grow closer to our Spiritual Mother and through that relationship grow closer to Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

What do Members do?

Members become instruments of the Holy Spirit through a balanced program of prayer and service.  Works include door-to-door evangelization, parishioner visitation, prison ministry, visitation of the sick or aged, crowd contact, religious education, visiting the newly baptized, Pilgrim Virgin Statue rotations and meeting other spiritual needs of the parish community.  Legionnaires are under the guidance of the pastor.  The Legion is, in essence, an extension of the heart and hands of the pastor.

When do we Meet?

Members meet once a week for prayer, planning and discussion in a family setting.  They do two hours of service each week in pairs and under the guidance of the pastor.

All are welcome!
