Members of the Grief Ministry contact families of recently deceased parishioners to express condolences on behalf of the St. Anthony Faith Community. This contact provides emotional support and compassionate listening to the bereaved. Each November, a Memorial Mass for St. Anthony's deceased parishioners in the last twelve months allows all Community to remember their lives and pray for them and their families.

Is your loved one suffering from addiction, depression, mental health issues, or general degenerative health? Would you like someone to talk to?  Heart to Hear is an online support group to draw people together for prayer and comfort.  No advice or education is given, just sharing our own experiences.  Let us join together to pray and support each other in God's love and mercy.  You are not alone.  We must feel free to reach out while maintaining everyone's privacy.

Bring back the Beauty

Have an eye for design, good with your hands, just want to continue to uphold the beauty of the Church? The Altar Society is the place for you. This amazing liturgy team helps prepare the environment of the Church and the beauty of the church for Sunday mass and special occasions. The Liturgy is the most important part of the faith. In the Mass Jesus comes to us in the Eucharist, and we want to welcome him with beauty and joy, however, this is not an easy task. Preparing the Altar and the church can take hours, especially for special occasions like Christmas, Easter, and special church feast days. Please come help us prepare the house of God to celebrate the Lord in the way he deserves.

Funeral Receptions

What We Do!

Helping Hands is an essential part of helping families cope with the lose of a loved one in there time of need.

Helping hands serves the funeral receptions help in the hall after funerals at St. Anthony's Parish. The Helping Hands team is in charge of helping set up the hall before the reception, serving food, cleaning up, and being the personal and loving link between the Saint Anthony's family and a family in need. Mourning the lost of a loved one is one of the hardest things that someone can ever have to do, the helping hands ministers get to be caring and loving messengers for the parish who help make the funeral reception process run smoothly. As a minister of Helping Hands you have an amazing opportunity to not only serve the parish, but to follow Jesus call to serve those in time of mourning. We need your help.

Ministers of Communion for the Sick and Homebound take the body of Christ to those unable  to attend Mass. We represent the church community and visit them at their homes, hospitals and care facilities. Many are lonely and miss the fellowship of church. We listen, we care, and  we pray with them and for them. Ministers are available during the week after Mass and after  Sunday Mass.

What we do!

The Main Goal of the Hospitality is to be the friendly and welcoming face that people see when they visit St. Anthony's. Members of the Hospitality Ministry greet people as they come to Mass on Saturday and Sundays, they hand out Bulletins at mass, and hand out special gifts on special occasion to the people attending. If you are a friendly face who loves welcoming people into the greater St. Anthony's Family than this ministry is built for you.

Who Are We!

We are Catholic men building a bridge back to faith. There is much good and necessary work to be done in this world, and that's what Knights do every day. The Knights of Columbus serve the greater parish with charity events and growing the next generation of men to rise up and serve the Church. The Knights are organized on charity, faith and fraternity.

Why is it Important?

The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary’s and the Church’s work. It is through the intercession of the Blessed Mother that one comes to know the Holy Spirit and Jesus Better. Saints such as, Saint Louis de Montefort, St. John Paul the Second, St. Mother Theresa, St. Dominic, and many others had devotions to the Blessed Mother in order to better pursue a relationship with the Lord. All That Mary wants is to bring us closer to her son, it is her goal and purpose to bring the whole World to Christ. It is through the Legion of Mary that we can grow closer to our Spiritual Mother and through that relationship grow closer to Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Caring for those in our community who are experiencing difficult times is our goal.  We help our neighbors who have lost jobs, income, have had illnesses and/or unexpected expenses.  The Covid-19 pandemic has affected them the most.  Fortunately, with your help, and that of the county, state, and federal assistance programs, there is enough money available currently to make a significant difference in their lives.  That is where we are now stepping in.  We are working with those agencies to coordinate, refer, and help our neighbors in Novato to access these funds…. and it is working!

We have heard our volunteers say there is no greater joy than to help a family stay in their home, have a warm bed, and not go to sleep hungry.  You too might enjoy this experience.  Would you like to know how to help?  If so, please call Steve O’Keefe  or Marilyn Williams at 415-883-1015 and they will explain the “how” to you.
